Let’s Make a Deal

So far, the Trump administration has played along, trusting the Supreme Court to back him up. But his opponents continue judge-shopping, in the hopes that somebody can make something stick and we can get all the criminals back here inluding those who have already been deported.

Trump doesn’t exactly have a free ride, what with all the opposing networks and several of the Republicans against him. Maybe one of these judges is going to have criminal intent enforced and then we’re going to be in for a real showdown. Maybe these judges should realize that he has the power to disbar them all. In the meantime, enjoy the show.

It looks like the war in Ukraine is going to continue despite our best efforts. Putin thinks if he keeps pushing he can have it as a buffer against NATO. I know they’ve been talking about making Ukraine a member of NATO, but that’s not going to happen, short of WWIII.

The Houthis had been attacking our ships in the Red Sea, but not anymore. They’ve decided the better part of valor is to back off. Who wants to be our sworn enemy? In a recent speech it came out that we have weapons that are inconceivable. Maybe we can vaporize them from space, but your guess is as good as mine.

India and Pakistan are threatening each other. Wouldn’t it be something if they started exploding nukes over there? Apparently that’s not going to happen. But the headlines were screaming a couple of days ago. The news desperately wants something to get Trump off the front pages. Good luck with that.

Gaza is in ruins. Our President is talking like it can be secured and something great can happen there. I wouldn’t hold my breath. We thought we were going to get things straightened out here at home. I doubt we need any international headaches, but then I don’t play 4-d chess.

I haven’t mentioned the new pope yet. He speaks English fluently, having been born in Chicago. Given some of what he’s put on the record, I wonder if the conclave didn’t think America needed a higher authority. But the pope’s brother may present a problem. He’s as MAGA as they come. There will be a great many things to ponder in the months ahead.

Did you see the 747 that Qatar gave to us? Trump jumped all over some reporter who brought it up, off topic, during a press conference and no doubt regretted it immediately. Now that’s a gift. Who knows if it will even be outfitted for service, but it’s the thought that counts.

If you look at the mainstream press, they’re out to get him, one way or the other. Everything is a scandal. Nothing too small, nothing too big. They hate him and everything he stands for, which is why we like him.

For forty years and longer we’ve put up with nags, people who preached to us about the flavor of the day, but left our survival out of it. Not since Ronald Reagan have we had a champion who was actually PROUD of this country. There are some wonderful places on earth, but the United States is unique in more ways than one.

Can you imagine the fear that must be disturbing the bad guys and gals? They couldn’t leave well enough alone, they just had to bring him down. But all their back-up plans failed, and now he’s in charge. I have mixed emotions about seeing the payback that will be coming. It’s going to be rough for some who haven’t respected our laws, and what can we do about it?

I have a feeling that law-abiding people are going to do better than ever during this second term. It seems the enemies are going down in flames.
